OCPL Goes Fine Free

Jun 01, 2021

Starting June 1st, 2021, Oldham County Public Library will be no longer charging overdue fines for regular collection materials. This includes all books, DVDs, audiobooks, graphic novels, and magazines. Patrons will still be financially responsible for long overdue, lost, or damaged materials. Overdue fees may still apply for special collection items.

Over the course of the pandemic, the library has not charged fines for overdue materials, and now that policy is permanent. By going fine free, the library hopes to make our services more accessible to the community at large. We understand that life can be unpredictable, and we all need a bit of extra leniency at times. We never want a few dollars in overdue fees to prevent a member of the community from getting access to information. All existing overdue fees will be waived from patron accounts. It’s time for a fresh start and fresh reading at the library this summer! If you have questions about your account, feel free to visit us at the library, or call 502-222-9713.
