This is just one energy-efficient and environmental consideration taken by the architects so that the building will qualify for LEED Certification (Leader in Energy Efficient and Environmental Design) as specified by United States Green Building Council standards. The Oldham County Public Library will be the first public library in Kentucky to be built as a sustainable, green building.
